Stakeholders advocate mindset transformation for workplace excellence

Stakeholders have emphasised the crucial role of mindset transformation in achieving workplace excellence and societal progress. This was stated at the Workers’ Day hangout, which was organised by HR GEMs Coaches Network, with the theme ‘Mindset Transformation: Becoming a Transformed Professional.’

Founder, HR GEMs Coaches Network, Lara Yeku, emphasised that HR practitioners must evolve alongside shifting work dynamics. She explained that the practitioners of the profession are no longer just managing people with policies or procedures but must begin to understand people deeply and lead transformation by shifting mindsets to enable better workplaces and business outcomes. Yeku explained that the power of the mind is often overlooked due to cultural conditioning, which limits potential.

On the motivation behind the hangout, she said: “Our vision and message have always been clear. In today’s world of work, we must collaborate, expand, and drive more impact. That’s why we aimed bigger this year.”

Global business strategist and wealth creation expert, Ugochukwu Omeogu, challenged attendees to move beyond surface-level motivation and commit to applying knowledge. He stated that life doesn’t reward effort, but knowledge and the evidence of learning are improved outcomes.

Omeogu emphasised that transformation begins with redefining one’s beliefs, adding that the greatest obstacle to success is the illusion of knowledge.

To be transformed in the mind, he stated that one must possess three levels of knowledge, namely: revelational, theoretical, and experiential.

“Revelational knowledge is gained from your relationship with God. Theoretical knowledge, gotten from the study of strategy, acquired through structured learning and experiential knowledge, which is gotten from practice and mentorship, ” he said.

President and Chairman, Governing Council, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Ahmed Gobir, represented by Financial Secretary, CIPM Bolanle Onime, lauded the initiative, saying, “Mindset transformation is the seed of all progress. As professionals change from within, they become more capable of building inclusive, innovative workplaces.”

He added that the event aligns with CIPM’s vision of shaping a world-class human resource profession in Nigeria.

“The commitment of the HR GEMs Coaches Network to empowering professionals through coaching and transformational tools is truly commendable,” he added.
