Tiger Brands appoints Ajukwu non-executive director

South Africa’s Tiger Brands has announced the appointment of Michael Ajukwu as non-executive director of the company, with effect from 31 March 2015.

South Africa’s Tiger Brands has announced the appointment of Michael Ajukwu as non-executive director of the company, with effect from 31 March 2015.

Ajukwu holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Lagos and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from New York University. He is currently chairperson of Mobax Nigeria Ltd and also serves as non-executive director on the boards of Intafact Beverages Ltd, a subsidiary of SABMiller in Nigeria, and Novotel, a member of Accor hotels group.

He was chairperson of Altech West Africa Ltd, from inception until divestment. He spent 21 years in the banking sector, prior to his retirement in 2002 as executive board member of United Bank for Africa.
Ajukwu brings with him extensive business experience in Africa and particularly in Nigeria.

A statement signed by the company secretary, I.W.M Isdale, said, “the board welcomes the appointment of Michael and looks forward to his contribution.”
