United Nations Peace and Positive Living Awareness Centre (UN-PEPOLAC) has honoured the Managing Director of Timatimoe Consult Limited, Dr Tim Atimoe, as an Ambassador for World Peace (AmbP-UN).

The honour, according to the global body, is in recognition of the recipient’s solidarity with world peace, contribution to peaceful living, and efforts towards human capital development.

A certified life coach and public speaker, Atimoe was presented with the certificate at an investiture ceremony at the weekend in Lagos.

With over a decade and a half of work experience in the corporate world, the honouree’s charity, Timatimoe Foundation, has committed to empowering five million young people across Africa.

In the notice of nomination signed by the International Coordinator of UN-PEPOLAC, Ambassador Bishop Festus Ozioma Ozoemena, the centre noted that the honour was on the back of Atimoe’s positive track records and outstanding commitment to peace.

“This honour is in recognition of your contributions to peaceful living at the community, societal and professional levels, your efforts toward human capital development, and your solidarity to global peace, in line with the UN tenets and ideals for human dignity,” he explained.

In his acceptance speech, Atimoe appreciated the organisers, observing that the recognition was a call to do more for humanity and society.

His words: “I am a firm believer that life is shaped by cause and effect – not by mere coincidence.”

Luck, in my view, is simply when preparation meets opportunity. My journey to this point is proof that with perseverance, anything is possible.

“My background was far from promising. I repeated primary school twice, dropped out of school twice, scavenged to survive in secondary school, and often found myself at the bottom of the class. As a child, I struggled with a debilitating stutter, had low self-esteem, and even attempted suicide. Yet, standing here today, having received numerous awards across different sectors and now being recognised by the United Nations is a testament that our circumstances do not define us.

“Life has shown me that with determination and resilience, we can rise above even the most challenging of circumstances.”
