
The association made the charge while giving awards to some of its members for their selfless service and impact on society.
Recipients of the awards include, Management Controller, Siat Group Belgium in Nigeria, Michael Onabajo, who is also the National President, National Council of Nigeria, YMCA; Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, SAS Textile Limited, Thompson Adedeji; Training Consultant to United Nations Agencies, James Caulcrick; Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Number Group of Companies, Emmanuel Adeniji; Baba-Ijo of St John Anglican Church, Igbogako, Samuel Akinnurun and member, Lagos Island 191 Detachment of Nigeria Red Cross Society, Tunji Makinde.
Others are former International Regional Director, YMCA North-West Africa, Godwin Odunlami; Vice Lay President, Lagos West Missionary Diocese of the African Church, Adebola Obayan; former Director, Finance and Supply Federal Ministry of Commerce, Ovbiagele Obaghe; Chancellor of Diocese of Oyo, Anglican Communion, Emmanuel Odubunmi and Chairman, Deacon’s Fellowship, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Sylvester Adelakun, as well as a posthumous award to Samuel Ajayi, a legal practitioner.
The Chairman, Membership Committee, YMCA, Lagos, Dr. Femi Adedugbe, during the members’ day awards night, said the awardees are members, who have distinguished themselves in several ways in carrying on the goals, and missions and objectives of the association.
He said after a thorough screening of many names submitted from different units, the committee selected 12 people, who were honoured with award of selfless service and making a great impact on the society and association.
