The show will also boast a stellar cast of experienced actors that include Inna Erizia and Patrick Diabuah (who recently featured prominently in BAP Productions’ Fela and the Kalakuta Queens).

According to Graham-Douglas, “Our Son the Minister will explore subjects like family dynamics, politics, friendship, parenting, religion and many more. This is not just a stage play; it is a theatre production that is absolutely hilarious yet thought-provoking.”
Ugbede won the first edition of the playwright competition organised by the Graham-Douglas-led Beeta Universal Arts Foundation with Our Son the Minister.
Beeta Universal Arts Foundation also kept its promise to publish the play as a way of encouraging the emergence of younger playwrights who will succeed the giants like Wole Soyinka, JP Clark, Femi Osofisan, Sam Ukala, the late Esiaba Irobi and others.
As Ugbede put it on his Facebook wall, “It has been God all along. Bikiya Graham-Douglas and her team at #beetauniversal have kept their promise and will bring this hilarious comedy to the world for the first time. Kenneth Uphopho is directing. I urge you all – family and friends – to come and watch. Make we hook up. 2018 has begun!
