Babawale unveils books on real estate

A well-acclaimed scholar in the field of real estate management, investment approval, valuation, and property taxation and current Head, Department of Estate Management, University of Lagos, Prof. Gabriel Kayode Babawale, has called on professionals in real estate to maintain standards and protect the ethics of the profession in the discharge of duties in spite of the challenges facing the country.

He gave the admonition during the launch of three of his books, a handbook on real estate investment appraisal, real estate valuation and investment appraisal, and the handbook on property taxation, recently.

While telling real estate professionals to do their best in the discharge of duties, he noted that the books would benefit them because it is a compilation of carefully crafted, research oriented provoking questions that cut across the legal, economic, and mathematics of real estate investment pricing and historical performance analysis.

The book, according to him, is recommended for undergraduates, postgraduates of various disciplines in Nigeria, businessmen, and the public, and potential estate professionals. He added that the aim also is to widen understanding and scopes of application that is from the elementary to the very advanced level.

The book on property taxation, which deals on lucid presentation of key theories and principles underlying real estate valuation is for property tax assessment proposal, which will assist students with intricacies involved in property tax administration.

Babawale advised that the book on mortgaging finance, which deals with principle practice and valuation will assist students to blend theories and practice with easy reference and comprehension. He also added that the 1,000 questions and answers deal with issues concerning real estate.

While advising youths, professional and non-professional, and the public that real estate is broad, he assured them that the three books will change and transform their lives, create opportunities for them and protect the profession.
