Smart Uzoechi, popularly known as Captain Smart, is currently the Divisional Head of Broadcast Services and a Senior On-Air Personality (OAP) at Inspiration 92.3FM Lagos. As the host of the popular morning show “The Breakfast Jam,” which airs weekdays from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., Captain Smart has become a prominent voice in Lagos radio. He also anchors several other flagship programs on the station, including “Sharing Life Issues” from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and “Alpha Club,” an all-male show airing on Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, he co-hosts the political program “All Out Politics” every weekday evening.

Before his tenure at Inspiration FM, Captain Smart made significant strides at Family Love 97.7FM in Port Harcourt, where he served as Head of Station. His responsibilities there included anchoring news and producing a diverse range of programs across various genres, including sports, oil & gas, business, politics, and religion. Among his notable achievements was the creation of “Morning Flight,” a devotional program that quickly gained popularity throughout Port Harcourt.

Captain Smart’s professional journey began in the banking industry, where he amassed valuable experience before transitioning to broadcasting. His banking career kicked off in 1998 with International Merchant Bank PLC in Lagos, and he later became a Systems Administrator at the bank’s Port Harcourt branch. After leaving the banking sector in 2007, he ventured into microfinance, where he managed three microfinance banks in Rivers State. His expertise earned him certifications from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

Following his departure from the banking world, Captain Smart pursued his passion for media by founding AnnieSmart Media, a multimedia and events company now managed by his wife, Annie Smart. Beyond broadcasting, Captain Smart is also a pastor, corporate and social events compere, counselor, motivational speaker, and mentor. He is married to Annie Smart, a successful entrepreneur, and together they have a daughter, Callista.
