Following the success of Season 1, the Deji Bakare Talent Search (DBATSEARCH), a reality TV show by the ex-Mr Nigeria will commence its second season this month.

Tagged 9ja 4 Show, this year’s event, according to Bakare, will see winners walk home with N10 million and lots of consolation prizes. Season 1 of the talent search, which held in 2013, was themed ‘Models with Talents’.

According to the former Mr Nigeria, the search is poised to help talented youths, not necessarily models reach their goals.

He said that registration starts by 12am on Saturday, August 10 and ends 12am on Tuesday, September 10. Intending participants can visit the official website, www.dbatsearch.com for registration and more information, adding that there is room for partnership from willing and interested organisations.

Bakare won the Mr Nigeria pageant in 2011, a position he occupied till 2013, before he left for Canada to acquire more expertise in modeling.

As president of the Association of Models, Bakare has promised to use his position to change the face of modeling in Nigeria.

He noted that winning the pageant exposed him to a lot of temptations; however, he did not allow himself to be carried away by success and fame.

Bakare is disappointed at men, especially entertainers, who allow themselves to be distracted from the path of success.

While berating the unattractiveness of modeling in this part of the world, he said, “A lot of people don’t know what modeling is all about, they just jump into it. Nigerians don’t respect models as well. I decided to build a school, Deji Bakare Talent Hunt Search because I wanted a different orientation for aspiring models.”
