Personality spotlight: Susan Adetinuke Ademusire of Faaji Casa Clothings

The personality spotlight of this piece is on Susan Adetinuke Ademusire, the CEO and Founder of Faaji Casa Clothings, where she is growing a fashion line that focuses on Afro-fusion of modern and traditional designs to create memorable, multi-functional, and charming yet simple for men who desire simple fashion pieces.

Adetinuke is a very experienced Pattern Maker, Garment Constructor, and Tailor, and she is using these skills alongside her business management skills, which she is growing as her business grows to expand her brand, Faaji Casa Clothings further. She describes her fashion ideology as being “Simple yet with a measure of the wow effect.” Her garment constructing and pattern-making skills complete each other, and these are so evident in the designs she puts out. Each piece is crafted with the thoughtfulness of the body frame type, the aesthetics of each part such as sleeves, necks, embroidery, or absence of it, amongst other important parts of each clothing. Susan’s Tailoring skills are quite commendable as she has been able to balance between giving the customers exactly what they want and what will further accentuate their builds.

Susan has been at a few fashion shows and exhibitions such as the GTB fashion week, the Fashion Finest Runway event, amongst others. Her brand, Faaji Casa, showcased different fashion collections, which were quite accepted by many of the attendees of the events.

The KPK collection is one that can be described as the physical representation of her commitment to African prints and its fusion of modern plus traditional designs with elegance.

Susan usually prefers to work with African prints such as Adire, Ankara, and Aso-oke.

Still, she says she is beginning to research and attempt to merge fabrics from various cultures in and outside of Nigeria in a bid to test the boundaries of fashion design and to grow her skills and expertise as a designer/CEO. Some of the sketches Atinuke had on display are quite magnificent and one cannot but be excited for what it will look like when she is done creating the final product. She equally works with other prints such as Print and Patterned Crepe, Silk, and Chiffon, amongst others. Often, one can find her designs to have pieces of these fabrics in some of her other designs.

Susan Adetinuke Ademusire and Faaji Casa Clothings are a brand to keep one’s eyes on in the fashion industry as the growth available to her and her brand is quite huge. Susan has been able to grow her brand to its current state, and she still hopes to be able to grow to the point of being able to rival international brands while not neglecting its Nigerian audience. We sure can not wait to celebrate the brand as it continues to take significant steps towards this goal of its CEO.
