As part of commitment to establish a world-class film academy and studio in Nigeria, that will empower passionate people all around the world and young African generations in particular, to sell Africa’s unique stories through global perspective and excellence to the international community, High Definition Film Studio, a subsidiary of High Definition Film Academy (HDFA) has re-packaged its Script2Screen Africa filmmaking training to reality TV project.

With the theme, ‘Film as a Catalyst for Revolution’, and sub-theme as ‘Corruption Free Nigeria, the reality TV show focus is to raise a new breed of filmmakers, who will tell stories that will question the status quo, disrupt the conventional, change the narrative, reconstruct the headlines and reinvent the future of Nigeria, whilst also understanding that though film is big business, yet it has the capacity to create social impact in every society.

Through the four weeks project, which will commence on March 24 and climax on April 21 2018, training, mentorship and supports will be provided to the 60 successful finalist selected from auditions held across the country, to shape thought provoking short and feature films that will pioneer positive revolution in Nigeria, and across the continent of Africa.

Script to Screen is High Definition Film Academy’s annual four weeks intensive hands on acting and filmmaking training, involving three stages: Training, Short Film Competition, and Awards.

The participants are trained and then engaged in a competition to produce their own short films, and climaxes with a premiere of their short films and awards are given to the most outstanding students in each category.

Though established in 2003 to frontier a quality and affordable film education for students around the world with a passion and irresistible drive to pursue a career in acting and filmmaking, HDFA has successfully organised this training for five consecutive years starting from its maiden edition in 2011/2012.

According to the founder of the academy, High Definition Film Academy [HDFA] we offer an intensive, hands-on, total immersion approach to learning; no previous experience is required, because we believe ‘it’s in you’. Hence, we tap into your innovation potency and explore the blueprints of your hidden potentials, develop your talent by maximizing your creative abilities, and then unleash the genius in you.

We achieve this by subjecting our student to a rigorous schedule of classroom lectures, hands-on workshops & immediate experience. Our philosophy is that “practice makes perfect”, and so from the first week of each program our students are introduced to practical; they start to write, shoot, and edit their own films.

March 24 to April 21, 2018 is the date for the Reality TV show. The show will be broadcasted on Silverbird Television, Africa Movie Channel, Wazobia and WazobiaMax TV, and AIT.
