Doyle+++-CopyTickets for the opening screening of ‘Fifty’ the movie by EbonyLife TV which is billed to premiere at the British Film Institute (BFI) London Film Festival has reportedly sold out. Specifically, tickets at the Vue 7 Cinema, Leicester Square for the Saturday October 17 screening and the additional screening at the Ritzy Cinema, South London on Sunday October 18 has reportedly sold out.

Set in Lagos, a city of disproportionate and breathtaking contrasts, ‘Fifty’ celebrates the pulse and energy of a fast developing metropolis and explores the diversities and complexities of its colourful people through the lenses of its women. Promoted as Mo Abudu’s quest to showcase African women coming of age, the movie is laced with increasingly similar aspirations and dilemmas faced by their contemporaries everywhere, while yet navigating unresolved traditions and obligations.

It was an elated Executive Producer of the movie Mo Abudu who broke the good news of the reception of the film, which stars stars Ireti Doyle, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Omoni Oboli and Nse Ikpe-Etim. Speaking about the popularity of the movie even before its formal screening Mo Abudu said: “This is a moment for African Storytelling. This is the objective for EbonyLife Films and we are overwhelmed by the reception for the film thus far.”. Abudu also disclosed that all four lead actresses would attend both screenings. Also, director of the movie Biyi Bandele and producer Tope Oshin-Ogun are expected to join the cast on the BFI Red Carpet. However, Fifty will get a special grand Nigerian premiere on December 13, 2015 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. It will thereafter go on nationwide release as from December 18.
