Why artistes need to have alternative income source aside music- Dennis Tita Galega reveal

Speaking on this, Menace disclosed that the passion behind the music business should not cloud entertainers from agreeing with the fact that funding is very crucial

He said ‘ Most music act, past and present most times are stranded due to lack of funding. Even if your signed pls do get another source of income just Incase your label switches off on you. Have seen artists lose relevance because of minor disputes between the label management and the artiste’.

Advising further, he however opined that there is need for the creation of a business structure that can fund the passion of music an artiste have as the business can even be built around the passion at the end of the day.

Sharing his experience, menace further divulged that he has turned down several music and recording deal because most recording companies don’t have a long time structure for the artiste. Aside that understanding human relations and understanding the basic laws of dealings in a business marriage is also equally important.

I have travelled to South Africa, Kenya to understudy the music business and how it’s been done, and I can say for a fact it’s very different from that of Nigeria sector.

Although we have the buying members; hence there is need for every Nigerian artiste to wise up and have an alternative means of livelihood to sustain their music ambition and passion.
