Film Maker Dr. Ope Banwo has set a groundbreaking precedent in African cinema and music by becoming the first on the continent to produce and release a fully AI-generated feature film, accompanied by a 14-track AI-composed soundtrack album. This pioneering achievement marks a revolutionary shift in content creation, proving that artificial intelligence is reshaping the entertainment industry in ways never before imagined.

A tech innovator, entrepreneur, and founder of Aiflix360, Dr. Banwo unveiled details of this historic project from his resident in Nebraska, United States. His AI-powered film, The OmegaMax Conspiracy, is a bold step forward for Nollywood and African filmmaking, eliminating the need for traditional production constraints such as physical sets, human actors, and manual cinematography.

In addition to the film, Banwo has also created the “Omegapro Scandemic” album, set for release on Spotify, iTunes, SoundCloud, and 109+ streaming platforms worldwide in March 2025. This 14-track soundtrack is entirely AI-generated, with artificial intelligence handling every aspect of songwriting, composition, production, mixing, and mastering another first for Africa’s music industry.

Speaking on the twin project, Banwo emphasised the transformative power of AI in creative industries.

He said, “This isn’t just about making a movie or an album. It’s about proving that AI can revolutionise content creation in ways we never imagined. For years, Nollywood has thrived despite budget constraints, logistical challenges, and limited resources. AI-driven filmmaking and music production now open new doors for African storytellers and artists to create high-quality productions without expensive sets, actors, or recording studios.”

Banwo further explained that AI-powered storytelling does not replace human creativity but instead enhances it, making it possible for artists to bring their boldest visions to life.

With the release of The OmegaMax Conspiracy, Africa now has its first-ever full-length AI-generated film, cementing Banwo’s legacy as a visionary, digital trailblazer, and industry disruptor. This milestone not only pushes Nollywood into the digital frontier but also positions Nigeria at the forefront of AI-powered storytelling and music innovation on a global scale.

Key highlights of the film include: 100 per cent AI-generated production, no human actors, no physical sets, no manual cinematography and fully AI-composed soundtrack, making it Africa’s first complete AI-driven multimedia project.

With this achievement, Dr. Banwo has redefined the possibilities for African filmmakers, musicians, and tech-driven storytellers, proving that Africa can compete at the highest level in digital entertainment.
