Silverbird has said that the upcoming Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, aims to celebrate the modern Nigerian women who embody a fusion of beauty, intelligence and digital literacy.
The firm established that the pageantry processes would no longer be limited to certain type of woman but would be open to women aged 18 years and above, of varying height, relationship status and weight as against 18 to 28 years and others specifications.
The pagentry, themed Digital Divas, would be held at Eko Hotel in Lagos on the 31st if August with 24 delegates who would be camped at Festac Hotels where they would engage on rigorous training processes in preparation for the contest.
President, Silverbird Group and National Coordinator, Miss Universe Nigeria, Guy Murray-Bruce disclosed that this year’s winner will represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico.
He also stated their commitment to empowering women through the pageantry.
“This year’s winner will receive N10million in cash and other prizes, underscoring our dedication to empowering women,” he said.
Speaking about the South African controversy involving Chidinma Adetshina, the model who contested for Miss South Africa, he said, “Chidinma has accepted an invitation to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant and will now be the official 25th delegate representing Taraba State,” he said.
On the theme: Digital Divas, Brand manager, Silverbird Group, Arthur Ngwube said, “this theme reflects the increasing importance of digital presence and influence in today’s world, encouraging the delegates to embrace technology, social media and digital platforms as they compete for the crown.”
Camp Coordinator, Anthony Abraham, gave insights into the camp activities which would run for one-week duration. Abraham said, “the activities will include pitch for business ideas, fashion show, tea party and were grafted to ensure that contestants are not only prepared for the pageant but also equipped with skills that will serve them well in their future endeavours.”
