Nedu Wazobia quits The Honest Bunch podcast

Popular radio presenter and comedian, Chinedu Emmanuel, known as Nedu Wazobia, has announced his exit from The Honest Bunch Podcast.

His decision comes after an online controversy involving social commentator, Martins Vincent Otse, also called Verydarkman.

The drama started when reality TV star, Deeone, claimed during an episode of the podcast that Verydarkman was attracted to men. Instead of addressing the claim directly, Verydarkman fired back at Nedu, leaking private conversations and making accusations about the women the comedian had allegedly been involved with.

By Friday, the heat had become unbearable, and Nedu took to Instagram to officially declare his resignation from the podcast.

According to him, he made the decision for the sake of his peace, his family, and the credibility of the show.
Nedu in his statement said, The Honest Bunch Podcast had been a platform for bold conversations and fearless discussions.

However, he admitted that the backlash, negative attention, and false accusations had started affecting him personally.

“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics,” he said.
“But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll.

“In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself.

“I sincerely hope this decision brings an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue thriving. I remain committed to fostering dialogue in ways that encourage meaningful engagement and growth, and I look forward to new opportunities that align with that vision.”

What’s next for The Honest Bunch Podcast?

Created by Glitch Africa in 2022, The Honest Bunch Podcast quickly became one of Nigeria’s most talked-about talk shows, featuring Nedu alongside co-hosts Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne. Known for discussing hot-button topics and stirring debates, the show has built a fan base.

With one of its founding members gone, many are wondering how the podcast will move forward. The producers have yet to reveal their next steps as of the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, fans are divided over Nedu’s departure. While some say he should have ignored the controversy, others believe stepping away was a good move.
