Why operations slowed on Monday – Air Peace

Air Peace on Monday explained why its flight operations slowed across parts of its network, attributing the disruption to a power surge that affected a critical information technology server used for crew scheduling and flight planning.

The airline said the technical fault resulted in delays on several flights as engineers worked to restore the affected infrastructure.

“The disruption was caused by a power surge which impacted a critical IT infrastructure server supporting our crew scheduling and flight planning processes,” Air Peace said in a statement.

It said the outage affected the systems used to coordinate flight crews and operational planning, slowing flight operations while technical teams worked with service providers to resolve the problem.

“As a result, some flights have experienced delays while our technical teams work with our service providers to fully restore the affected infrastructure,” the airline said.

Air Peace apologised to passengers for the inconvenience, saying it understood the impact the delays had on travellers’ plans.

The carrier stressed that safety remained its highest priority and that no flight would operate unless all safety and operational requirements had been met.

It said maintenance and restoration work was expected to be completed later on Monday, after which normal flight operations would gradually resume.

Passengers were advised to monitor the airline’s official communication channels for updates on flight schedules.

Air Peace is Nigeria’s largest airline by fleet size and route network, operating domestic, regional and international services. The airline has expanded significantly in recent years, making its digital operational systems increasingly critical to coordinating daily flights across multiple destinations.
