LG Electronics (LGE) has partnered with the EbonyLife Creative Academy (ELCA) to support the filmmaking community with cutting-edge technology, aiming to foster the development of world-class cinematic content in Nigeria and across Africa.
Through this partnership, LG Electronics will provide the academy with top-tier products designed to enhance the learning environment and help students produce high-quality films.
Disclosing this at the signing ceremony, the Head of Corporate Marketing at LG Electronics, Hari Elluru, highlighted that the products are renowned for their superior display technology and energy efficiency.
He said these tools will ensure that students have access to the best resources, whether for film editing, post-production or on-set display needs.
Elluru also mentioned that LG’s premium smart TVs feature a ‘filmmaker mode,’ a favorite among movie directors worldwide, which preserves the director’s intent and maintains the artistic vision and creative nuances of every film.
Elluru added that with unparalleled picture quality, impressive contrast, and vibrant colors, LG’s OLED and Smart TVs offer an immersive cinematic experience.
He further noted that these televisions are also ideal for gaming, particularly for first-person shooters, real-time strategy games, and racing titles, due to their immaculate HDR picture quality, deep blacks, and precise colors enabled by self-lit pixels.
On his part, the Head of the EbonyLife Creative Academy, Drikus Volschenk, praised the expanded partnership, emphasising that the collaboration underscores the academy’s commitment to training filmmakers capable of serving both local and international markets.
He noted that it also aims to introduce Nigeria’s unique storytelling style to the world.
According to Volschenk, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering Africa’s creative industry by providing aspiring filmmakers with the best-in-class technology.
“By leveraging LG’s state-of-the-art products and ELCA’s creative expertise, this partnership is set to revolutionize the filmmaking experience for students and professionals alike,” he stated.
