The Managing Director of the company, Tayo Ogundare, who made this commitment during the commissioning of the new office building in Lagos, said the facility would further boost efficient courier services in the country.

He said the company’s vision is to build an international logistics company, transacting businesses across the world with extensive network in Africa.

“We had the vision to become Africa’s largest logistics and Courier Company with extensive network in Nigeria, and in all major cities of the world,” he said.

Ogundare, who was highly elated about the development said: “Since the world has become a global village and to fully actualise our goal of being a global player, we knew we must as a matter of importance be a part of a global company. Thus in 2008, the Board of Directors identified and approached the fifth largest courier and express delivery network in the world, Skynet Worldwide Express for the Nigerian franchise and after a competitive bidding, we were granted franchise in October 2013. Since the acquisition of the franchise, we have grown in leaps and bounds. Within the few years, we have won several awards and accolades.”

The building, which is equipped with modern facilities and has capacity to sit 200 staff is named after his father, late Pa Oludaisi Ogundare. To immortalise his memory as a great man in all respects, for teaching him the virtues of honesty, hard work, enterprise, contentment, love, giving and cooperation.

At the event was the Senior Assistant Postmaster- General, Courier Regulatory Department, NIPOST (Nigerian Postal Services), Simon Emeje, who gave his support to the company and urged investors to branch into this sector.

“The courier industry is wonderful and people should start investing in this sector because we are the fore front of top organisations. In five to 10 years from now, they would be celebrating a different milestone. This is a worldwide company and they are living up to it,” he said.

Also present at the event was the Asiwaju of Ikere Kingdom, Chief Wole Olanipekun, who blessed and commended the company for the feat. “May God bless the work of his hands. He is a shining example of what Ikere stands for. We come to Lagos to work and fulfill our mission. They are breaking new grounds in businesses every day,” he said.
