FCT Police arrest three for murder, theft of victim’s cows

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have arrested a gang leader, Abubakar Idris (Nishi), and two of his accomplices, Buhari Saidu and Musa Ahmadu Suleiman, over the murder of his adversary.
Spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, said that an investigation revealed Nishi was angered by Danfulani’s intentions to marry a woman in whom he had made significant financial investments. Consumed by jealousy and frustration, Nishi, along with his accomplices, attacked Danfulani with knives, leading to his tragic death on November 27, 2024.
She added that in addition to their crimes, the gang also stole 18 cows belonging to the victim, which they reportedly took as compensation for Nishi’s perceived financial losses.
After reportedly committing the crime, Nishi fled the scene and was later tracked down by officers from the Nasarawa State Command. Adeh further said Nishi was also in the process of recruiting new gang members.
“Reports indicate that he was in the process of recruiting new gang members to carry out another heinous act,” she said.
Adeh also said that the FCT Police Command had assistance from the Agaitu community in Karu, which helped in the arrest of the suspects.
