Otu inspects projects in Ogoja, assures residents of prompt delivery

Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth across the state.
The governor, who made the commitment during an inspection visit to Ogoja to assess ongoing government projects in the area, highlighted visible progress and addressed concerns and challenges faced during implementation.
During the visit, Otu toured key infrastructure projects, including the ongoing road construction aimed at improving transport services.
Speaking to journalists, he acknowledged the significance of the development, stating that the upgrades would enhance connectivity and boost economic activity in Ogoja.
“This is not just about building roads; it’s about creating access and opportunities for the people of Ogoja. We have faced some challenges, especially with soil conditions, but we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that work continues as planned,” he said.
The governor noted that despite initial setbacks caused by poor soil conditions, remediation efforts have kept the project on track.
He assured residents that the work would be completed within the scheduled timeframe, promising a more efficient transport network that would facilitate trade and movement within the region.
Beyond infrastructure, Governor Otu noted the economic impact of the ongoing projects.
He pointed out the increase in local business activities, improved mobility, and heightened commercial interactions as signs that the developments were already benefiting the people.
“The ripple effect of these projects is clear. We are seeing more businesses spring up, more people moving around, and a general improvement in economic activities. This is what good governance is about—delivering real change that people can see and feel,” he added.
