Eventhive, Africa’s B2B2C event servicing company has announced plans to host business leaders and policy makers across the U.S., Nigeria and Africa at large, at the U.S.-Nigeria Business Outlook on September 13, 2024 in New York during the 79th United Nations General Assembly.
This is coming after three editions of UK-Nigeria Business Outlook in London, with participation from Shell, Africa Finance Corporation, British International Investments, UK Export Finance, UK Parliament, Landmark Africa and a host of others.
The event will bring together international business leaders, startups, policy makers, investors, entrepreneurs, and government representatives across the United States and Nigeria, leading to discussions that will impact the economies of both countries and Africa at large.
The event also seeks to deepen the trade relationship between the United States and Nigeria. Discussions at the event will prioritise Africa’s trade and investment landscape as well its important role on the international arena. In Africa, Nigeria is the U.S. second-largest trading partner with two-way trade exceeding $10.6 billion in 2022.
The United States equally serves as one of Nigeria’s foreign investment sources, with direct investments totalling $5.6 billion in 2022. While Nigeria offers U.S. opportunities across multiple industries, challenges abound, which includes currency exchange issues, regulatory and compliance hurdles, infrastructure deficit, insecurity amongst others.
The event will spotlight many of these challenges. Energy, Fintech, Infrastructure Finance, Trade, Sustainable Investment amongst others. Speakers participating at the event include President, GE Vernova Africa, Mai Abdelhalim, Senior State Department Advisor to Corporate Council on Africa, Carl Paschall, Managing Director, Banking and Capital Market Advisory, Citi, Stephanie Von Friedeburg, Adam and Leader, McKinsey Sustainability Practice, Africa, Habeeb and others.
