FG floats environment council to ease business transactions
The Federal Government has established a Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) that would address issues associated with the ease of doing business in the country.
Buhari said the council would help to review and remove all encumbrances to trade facilitation, enforce simplification, as well as, streamline export and import documentation and procedures leveraging on technology with a view to removing administrative bottlenecks.Buhari gave the assurances Tuesday in his keynote address at the 11th Abuja International trade Fair.
President Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajia Aisha Abubakar, said in a bid to develop and promote the activities of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), government has expanded the number of participating agencies in the Nigeria Enterprises Development Programme (NEDEP) to include Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Standard organisation of Nigeria (SON) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
