ICAN urges banks to support SMEs

The President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Mr. Olufemi Deru, has urged banks and other organisations to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to with accessible loans.

The President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Mr. Olufemi Deru, has urged banks and other organisations to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to with accessible loans.

The president made this call during the institute’s visit to First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) headquarters in Marina, Lagos.

In his words: “I want to appeal to the bank to support entrepreneural initiatives by creating a special platform for members who are willing to engage in business, especially SMEs to have easy access to loan.”

The president, while speaking on his agenda for 2016, said “the pillar of my presidency is to encourage entrepreneurship.”
