Holds consultative meetings with religious leaders

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, yesterday, said that his administration had begun move to engage investors towards reviving the Ifon Ceramic Company, Okitipupa Oil Palm Limited, and other moribund industries across the state.

According to the governor, the move was hinged on the determination to provide employment opportunities for the youths as well as enhance the economy of the state. He emphasised that engagement with the investors would also aid in developing the seaport, bitumen exploration, and the state’s waste-to-energy initiative.

Aiyedatiwa, who disclosed this during a consultative meeting with religious leaders in the state at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office in Akure, the state capital, hailed them for their support and prayers, as well as their contributions to maintaining peace and tranquility in the state.

On his part, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state, Anselm Ologunwa, expressed gratitude to the governor for giving recognition to the contributions of religious leaders.

Also, Chief Imam of Akure, Sheikh Abdul Hakeem Yayi-Akorede, commended the governor for his efforts in fostering unity and peace within the state.
Yayi-Akorede, who emphasised the importance of collaboration between religious leaders and the government in addressing the challenges faced by the people, acknowledged the positive impact of the governor’s initiatives and gave the assurance that the Muslim community would continue to offer their prayers and support.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Chairman of Ondo State Muslim Welfare Board, Chandy Adam, urged religious leaders to help spread the message against protests and to support Aiyedatiwa’s administration in implementing more life-changing programmes and policies.
