Social Media Fest (SMFEST), will on October 18, 2025, host its seventh edition at FWC, Wuye. Abuja.
The organisers said this year’s event, themed “Africa Unlocked: Leading the Digital Revolution,” aims to explore how Africa can fully harness its digital potential to drive innovation, sustainable growth, and inclusion across the continent.
Since its inception in 2021 as a small social media gathering in Owerri, SMFEST has evolved into a continent-wide movement. In four years, it has hosted six editions across Owerri and Awka, drawing thousands of digital creators, tech entrepreneurs, and business leaders.
The Abuja edition will kick off with a one-week digital skills bootcamp from October 6–11, 2025. The training programme will focus on areas such as digital marketing, brand storytelling, content monetisation, entrepreneurship, and AI-driven business growth.
Participants will benefit from practical mentorship and walk away with strategies to scale their businesses in the digital economy.
The main conference will follow on October 18, featuring keynotes, panel discussions, exhibitions, and networking sessions. Confirmed speakers include Abubakar Suleiman (CEO, Sterling Bank), Odunayo Sanya (Executive Director, MTN Foundation), Olugbenga Agboola (CEO, Flutterwave), Hon. Benjamin Kalu (Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives), Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji (CEO, Rise Networks), Linus Okorie (President, GOTNI Leadership Centre), and popular digital creator, Oga Sabinus.
SMFEST organisers said the 2025 edition would feature several segments designed to foster innovation and connection, including an Innovation Panel, Founders’ Mixer, and Fireside Chats with creators and industry leaders.
According to them, this edition marks a new chapter for SMFEST as they bring the movement to Nigeria’s capital and invite the rest of Africa to lead the digital revolution.
The organisers encourage interested participants to register early and be part of what they describe as the ultimate convergence of technology, innovation, and opportunity in Africa.
