Keystone Bank donates ICT centre to Borno nursing college

Keystone Bank Limited has handed over a new ICT Centre to the College of Nursing and Midwifery in Maiduguri, Borno State, as part of its educational support programme.

The donation includes infrastructure aimed at improving digital learning, with computers, solar-powered equipment, and dedicated workstations installed on the school’s premises.

During the commissioning event held on 7 July 2025, the bank’s Executive Director for North and Public Sector, Abubakar Usman Bello, stated that Keystone views educational investment as critical to the country’s progress.

He said the facility reflects the kind of collaboration possible between corporate organisations and the government in supporting educational institutions.

Bello added that the bank hopes the centre will enhance students’ access to digital tools and foster a learning environment responsive to modern needs.

He said, “Education is the cornerstone of any thriving society. It shapes young minds, opens doors to opportunity, and builds the leaders of tomorrow.

“At Keystone Bank, we believe that investing in education is one of the most powerful ways to drive national development.

“This ICT Centre represents what is possible when the private and public sectors come together to empower future generations. We hope the facility will foster a culture of creativity, digital literacy, and lifelong learning.”

In his response, Acting Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Budget and Planning in Borno, Mustapha Babagana Mallumbe, said the ICT Centre contributes meaningfully to efforts aimed at rebuilding the state’s educational infrastructure. He urged other private entities to consider similar contributions as part of national development objectives.

State education officials, representatives from health and planning ministries, and members of the House of Assembly attended the event.

The bank said the facility is intended to support the college’s role in producing qualified health professionals for the region.
