AS part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), MRS Oil Nigeria PLC has created an avenue for empowerment through its maiden women empowerment initiative.

The programme, which kicked off at the company’s head office, will ensure that beneficiaries are mentored and given adequate information on how they can continue to improve their businesses and achieve success in their chosen vocations.

Explaining the need for the programme, the Company Secretary, Mrs. Oluwakemi Jafojo said it is an opportunity to reach out to the unemployed, people who have vocations but do not have the means to start up their businesses, and a means of impacting the lives of the less privileged.

According to Mrs. Yemi Ajibade, one of the consultants who undertook the selection process, the selection process was rigorous because there were so many women who needed help, but in the end they had to make a selection based on whose needs were greater.
