MTN FoundationMTN Foundation (MTNF) has announced the closure of nominations for the #WhatCanWeDoTogether campaign, following thousands of entries already received.

The next phase of the campaign will now commence and 200 deserving communities will be selected for positive impact.

Launched as parts of efforts to reach out to more Nigerians, the nomination that was opened for three weeks ended last week after a huge number of communities have been nominated by Nigerians who participated in the process.

Speaking on the high level of participation in the nomination process, Nonny Ugboma, executive secretary, MTN Foundation, said, “We at MTNF are indeed pleased with the massive participation of Nigerians in nominating the community of their choice. Nigerians have partnered with the Foundation to ensure that this initiative is a success and we are glad with the responses we received.”

“The short listing process has begun and the top 200 communities with the highest nominations will be selected to benefit from 200 projects across 200 LGAs in the country. These projects will include the provision of school furniture, boreholes, transformers or household items for orphanages in such communities.”

According to Nonny, this initiative is a demonstration of the Foundation’s firm commitment to continue complimenting government’s efforts in ways that can improve project development in various communities across the country.

She said, “The MTN Foundation would like to thank Nigerians for participating in this initiative. By partnering with the Foundation, Nigerians would begin to see improvements in their chosen communities as we begin the implementation of the projects after the selection has been done. The general public should note that nomination of communities after the closing date of 9th of October would be invalid and disregarded”.
