NIA, Moroccan insurers seal deal on market information sharing
The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and the Moroccan Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies have signed a technical cooperation agreement that will aid both countries in market information sharing, and capacity building in both markets.
This was revealed in a statement made available to The Guardian by the Deputy Director, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, and Administration, NIA, Davis Iyasere.
It said the move was to foster outstanding cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Nigerian government.
The Chairman, NIA, Olusegun Omosehin, and the Director–General, NIA, Yetunde Ilori, at the formal signing in Casablanca Morocco, agreed with the President of the Moroccan Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, Mohamed Bensalah, would share experiences and the best insurance practices to identify other possible areas of the cooperation, including priority areas based on a path already laid out by the presidents of the two countries.
Explaining the details of the agreement, Omosehin said the two associations agreed among others to “maintain permanent contacts between the two associations to exchange and share successful experiences and best practices of both parties”.
“To give effect to the foregoing, the parties agree to meet once or twice a year in Casablanca and Lagos as the case may be,” he added.
