The Alfonso Group has unveiled Alfera Technik, a new technology brand positioned to produce high-tech consumer electronics products, made in Nigeria for the world, with plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Ibadan by 2026.

Speaking at the brand unveiling event, CEO of the Alfonso Group and Managing Director of Alfera Technik, Adebayo John Alfonso, announced that the company would begin introducing its products to the Nigerian market in October 2025, starting with televisions ranging from 32 to 85 inches, laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

“What we are doing today is unveiling our new tech company, Alfera Technik. It is a new brand that will be producing high-tech electronics products, consumer electronics products, hardware and software products, made in Nigeria, world-class,” Alfonso said.

The company’s Head of Operations, Gbenga Ogundipe, outlined an aggressive timeline that includes taking delivery of 10,000 sample units by the end of September, official product launch in mid-October and commencement of facility construction by late October 2025. The manufacturing plant is expected to be operational within seven to nine months of construction.

Notably, Alfera Technik has secured a Presidential Waiver for its first batch of products worth $2 million, highlighting the government’s support for the initiative under the current administration’s “Nigeria First” policy.

The company’s ambitions extend far beyond traditional consumer electronics. Ogundipe revealed plans to produce drones, portable video cameras, and airphones locally, while also exploring partnerships with the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) to produce hardware for satellite stations and potential space missions.

“We are setting up a facility whereby the hardware that is needed, when being created locally, can be produced locally. And it’s easier and cheaper for tech minds within the country to access some of this hardware,” Ogundipe explained.

The company is positioning itself to leverage emerging technologies, with Ogundipe emphasizing that, unlike established brands built in the pre-AI era, Alfera Technik is integrating the technology of the day into what is evolving.

Addressing concerns about the quality of Nigerian-made products, Ogundipe shared that 70% of Alfera Technik’s production is targeted at international markets, with only 30% for local consumption. The company has already secured distributors in West African countries and two European nations.

“We want someone in the UK to use our product and say, ‘Where is it from?’ And they say, ‘it’s made in Nigeria.’ We want someone in Switzerland to use a TV and say, ‘Oh, where did you buy this from?’ Oh, it’s Alfera. What’s Alfera? It’s a brand from Nigeria,” Ogundipe stated.
