… Insists re-election non-negotiable, cites performance

… Says no room for low voter turnout in Ondo

A coalition campaigning for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 has disclosed that his return to office is non-negotiable, citing what it described as his outstanding performance across various sectors of the economy.

The BTO Coalition Platform for PBAT 2027 stated this during a rally held at Ikare-Akoko Cenotaph in the Akoko North-East Local Council Area of Ondo State, drawing supporters in their numbers, including youths, artisans, market women and professionals.

The group, sponsored by the minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has set a target of securing more than one million votes for Tinubu in the state during the 2027 presidential election.

According to the coalition, the rally was part of its voter enlightenment and education initiatives aimed at increasing voter participation and sensitising residents across the state ahead of the next general election.

While addressing participants at the event, the National President of the coalition, Otunba Adesina Abubakar, stressed what he described as Tinubu’s giant strides in education, health, housing, urban development and road construction, emphasising that the achievements are evident.

Abubakar explained that the event was organised to mobilise support for the president while simultaneously educating voters on the electoral process and their civic responsibilities.

The coalition’s national president expressed concern about the low voter turnout recorded in Ondo State during the last election, noting that the group was determined to encourage more eligible voters to participate in the electoral process.

“Due to what we observed in the last election, we discovered that voter turnout in Ondo State was not encouraging. We had about 1.9 million registered voters, but only about 300,000 people voted.

“This time around, we want to educate and enlighten people about the forthcoming elections and encourage support for PBAT 2027.

“Our task is to inform the people of Ondo State about their voting rights, encourage them to participate in the electoral process and vote for the candidates of their choice. We are also giving the message that they should support Tinubu in 2027,” Abubakar stated.

The United Kingdom Coordinator of the coalition, Sam Adedayo Adegbite, noted that the coalition was highlighting what it described as the achievements of President Tinubu and the contributions of Minister Tunji-Ojo to development in Ondo State.

“The reason why we are doing this is for people to be aware of the structure that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is putting in place and, at the same time, through our own interior minister, what he has done and what he is still doing in Ondo State,” Adegbite said.

He emphasised that the BTO Coalition for PBAT 2027 was not a one-off campaign initiative but a structured mobilisation platform with presence across Ondo State and other parts of Nigeria.

“The BTO Coalition Platform for PBAT 2027 is not just a one-time event. We have this structure existing within the entire Ondo State and not only Ondo State alone but also across Nigeria. As you can see, I came from the UK because of this mobilisation,” Adegbite added.

The National Organising Secretary of the coalition, Engineer Beremoye Samuel, said the group was motivated by what he described as the good works of the minister of interior, Tunji-Ojo.

Samuel said the coalition was committed to mobilising voters across the state and delivering Ondo State to Tinubu in the 2027 election.

“To sensitise people on the forthcoming election, we are inspired to deliver Ondo State to Mr President. That is what we are meant to do,” Samuel stated.

He confirmed that all 18 local governments in Ondo State were represented at the rally, adding that participants would return to their communities to educate residents about the president’s achievements and encourage mass voter participation.

“We invited people from different local governments. As you can see here, we have all 18 local governments duly represented. We are to go out there and tell the people about the good work of Mr President and how we are going to come out en masse to vote for him to ensure that we deliver Ondo State to him,” he said.
