As part of efforts aimed at promoting capacity of indigenous construction firms to deliver complex commercial developments, Stretford Hill Limited, an indigenous Nigerian integrated construction company, recently delivered the structural and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works for Canary Points Headquarters.

The facility, which is a five-storey commercial development was recently commissioned in Lagos.

The commissioning was attended by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat; Chairman of Canary Point Holdings Kayode Lambo;, Group Managing Director of Canary Point Holdings Idris Ibrahim, other government officials, business leaders and industry stakeholders.

In his speech, the Chief Executive Officer of Stretford Hill Limited, Engr. Lakunle Runsewe, said, ‘on a project like this, the structural elements and building services must work together to ensure the building functions as an integrated facility. Achieving that requires careful planning, effective coordination and consistent attention to quality. I am proud of what our engineers and site teams have accomplished at Canary Points Headquarters, and grateful to Canary Point Holdings for the confidence placed in Stretford Hill Limited.’

Speaking further, he added, “I also extend my appreciation to the project consultants, specialist contractors, interior finishing team and other stakeholders whose expertise and contributions supported the delivery of the development. As the main contractor for the structural and MEP works, Stretford Hill Limited executed the building’s structural works from foundation to roof slab, alongside the installation of its mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

The wider development also involved specialist contractors responsible for other aspects of the project, including interior finishing, alongside consultants and other project stakeholders.
