Truck owners fault NPA’s N10,000 levy
The Coalition of Port Dry Cargo Transport Operators (CPDTO) has opposed the ten N10,000 electronic sticker levy introduced by the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA).
Speaking with journalists during a solidarity protest at the port entrance gate at Lagos Ports Complex, the Executive Secretary of National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Aloga Ogbogo said said the N10,000 levy is unacceptable.
Appealing to the federal government to intervene, Chairman Port Dry Cargo Transport Operators, Abdullahi Inuwa said the protest was against the levy, adding that members are in support of ensuring that the trucks meet the required minimum standards.
He said truck drivers are already contending with problem of bad road and other challenges.
