‘Why renewable energy is alternative to consistent grid collapse’

Renewable energy

As power grid failures and blackouts have become increasingly common in many regions, renewable energy sources are being seen as alternatives to help alleviate the problem.

Experts at Gennex Colloquium emphasised the need to embrace renewable energy as an alternative in alleviating supply challenges. They believe that renewable energy adoption is becoming more accessible for individuals, businesses and governments looking to protect their power supply.

They emphasised that with continued investment in renewable technologies, the options could become a primary defence against power outages, offering both stability and sustainability.

Managing Director, Gennex Technologies, Dr Patrick Ilo said renewable energy, particularly solar, offers a decentralised and sustainable solution. He stressed that with the rising price of petrol and diesel, renewable energy has become the best alternative to efficient power.

He emphasised that in regions and villages prone to blackouts, renewable energy solutions such as solar panels with battery storage are becoming increasingly attractive.

He maintained that the systems not only provide backup power during outages but also help reduce dependence on fossil fuels, which contribute to climate change.

“This is now the time; life is about alternatives. Once you know that things are not at the stretch of a solution, then you move to the next alternative. This is the time where critical thinking has to come, you have to dilute your energy solution by using Band A, renewable and other forms that are cheaper and I think renewable energy is the solution, you can manage your electricity with it,” he said.
