Plateau gets ex-legislators' forum
THE Plateau State House of Assembly has inaugurated a forum of former legislators.
Held in Jos, Plateau State capital yesterday, the event brought together veteran legislators including the first Speaker of the House, Prof. Dakum Shown, who served from 1979 to 1982.
While inaugurating the forum, current Speaker of the House, Mr. Istifanus Mwansat, described the occasion as the result of the Speakers' conference held in Abuja sometime this year, which mandated state Houses of Assembly to put in place such a forum.
He expressed gladness that Plateau State apart from the National Assembly, was one of the first state Assemblies to comply with the directive.
