I just lost an opportunity to turn around my fortunes with the outcome of the election.

CONSIDERING the milestone effect of the 2015 general elections, it is important that we take on aspects of the electoral experience so that it does not just pass without leaving behind some important lessons. It is good that we remind ourselves why some things happened and why others did not. 2011, for instance, has become a reference point in terms of political violence and the bad character of the average politician when it comes to accepting defeat. When you talk of 2011, we are reminded of the innocent youth corpers who were brutally killed in Bauchi.

IN spite of whatever Alaba has said about African countries not allocating political roles to the descendants of African kings in today's African States, these kings still pull a lot of weight. Unfortunately most of the time it is the wrong pull. Most of the time, it is a deadly pull.

THE way of the world is fickle like the track of a serpent on a bald rock. But Death, the inevitable end of life, is certain and as predictable as daybreak. Death is also a great leveler.

THE Murtala Mohammed Airport Ikeja, otherwise known as MM2 airport has to be without any doubt the most unfriendly airport in Nigeria. I KNOW you may not want to read further because you feel you are already a pro in this but I hope those who wish to read will learn a thing or two on how best to approach the lady they admire. One thing I must remind you is that ladies, just like you, are human beings with needs for companionship, affection, and friendship. They are not a strange breed; they have vision, passion, and purpose just as men.

An Appropriate gift “NOW when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, Wise-men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” Mathew 2:1-2(ASV).

WHEN political parties and their candidates are contesting for elections, it is in their nature to make flamboyant and mouth-watering promises to the electorate. All this is done to outwit opponents so as to win the hearts and votes of the masses.

ALL the commentators spoke about corruption and how endemic it is; but they some how fail to include the judiciary in the corruption arena. If corruption is that endemic, then the judiciary is tainted with that contagion. It is like Jesus Christ said in the Bible, if you lust after a woman, then you have committed adultery.

GENERAL Muhammadu Buhari may be said to have achieved all anybody will ordinarily aspire to attain professionally and politically. But, at 72, his life, in a very real sense, is just about to begin. Battered, stumbling hopelessly sometimes, jailed and released only when his spirit was thought dead and considered to be not a threat to the political ambition of many compatriots, yet unequalled.
