Stakeholders in the education sector across Northern Nigeria are set to gather in Kano State for the All Northern Schools Conference 2026, a regional meeting focused on education development, school management, and sector-wide reform.
The conference, scheduled to hold from 5th to 7th May, 2026, will bring together policymakers, school owners, administrators, investors, and development partners from all 19 Northern States in discussions aimed at improving innovation, sustainability, and overall performance in schools across the region.
It is scheduled to hold at the Afficient Grand Marquee and Maryam Abacha American University, Kano, with organisers projecting attendance of over 1,000 participants drawn from both public and private education institutions, alongside technology experts and education-focused entrepreneurs.
The programme will include keynote speeches, panel discussions, exhibitions, and technical sessions covering areas such as modern teaching methods, school funding models, policy alignment, and strategies for improving learning outcomes.
Convener of the conference, Dr. Hadiza Nuhu Yusuf Baba, Founder of Intercontinental Schools, Kaduna, said the initiative is aimed at repositioning schools in Northern Nigeria to respond more effectively to emerging educational and economic challenges.
She said the conference is designed to go beyond discussions by promoting practical solutions that school leaders can apply to improve performance and sustainability within their institutions.
“Northern schools must be empowered to lead in innovation, sustainability and impact. This conference will serve as a launchpad for fresh ideas, strategic partnerships and collaborative action that will change how education is delivered across the North,” she said.
Organisers noted that the event will also serve as a platform for partnerships between education providers, investors, and development actors, with a focus on long-term growth and innovation in the sector.
They added that the conference reflects ongoing concerns among stakeholders about the need to modernise education systems in the region, particularly in areas such as digital learning, infrastructure development, and teacher capacity.
The event is expected to end with a set of recommendations aimed at strengthening coordination among education stakeholders and supporting policy direction across Northern Nigeria’s school system.
