The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed the commitment of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo in ensuring an education revolution in which every child is given an opportunity to access education.
To this end, the state government ensures that every school keys into the revolution the government’s free education programme.
This is the highlight of the One-day event organised by the Anambra state Universal Basic Education (ASUBEB) held at the Board’s headquarters, Awka, the State capital, yesterday,
Welcoming participants to the event of Distribution of Free Administrative Statutory Records to All Basic Education Schools in Anambra State, the ASUBEB Chairman, Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu observed that the event marks a public declaration that the Soludo’s Free Education Policy is neither a slogan, nor a campaign promise left to gather dust.
The Chairman of ASUBEB said the free education programme is one of the key pillars of the Soludo administration’s human capital development agenda.
Anyadiegwu reiterated that governor Soludo has zero tolerance for corruption, stressing that anybody caught will pay the price.
She recalled that with the state government’s free Basic Education: Tuition and Levies were waived for public school students from nursery through junior secondary school (JSS 3).
Anyadiegwu said: “It is a living, breathing revolution that is moving deliberately, systematically, and powerfully from policy to practice, from promise to performance.
“Under the transformative leadership of Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Anambra has chosen the harder but nobler path: to invest in the foundation of every child without asking the parent for a kobo. No levies. No charges. No hidden fees. Every school. Every child. That is the Soludo standard. That is the Soludo difference.”
She recalled that a few days ago, the Board concluded its intensive leadership training for Head Teachers and Officers-in-Charge across the State on the proper use of digital registers and other modern administrative records.
“This was not optional. This was a direct response to Mr Governor’s clear and firm mandate: that Anambra must leave behind the era of tattered, incomplete, and easily manipulated manual records.”
She revealed that, by the next academic session, “we will commence the total migration from manual to digital records.”
According to her, the said training concluded was the first decisive step, adding: “Capacity building will continue relentlessly until every Headteacher and Officer-in-Charge achieves full mastery before take-off.
“We will not leave any school behind.
We will not leave any children behind. That is the Soludo promise, and ASUBEB will deliver it.”
The ASUBEB boss noted that the free registers, diaries, and folders being distributed “are more than stationery,” but are instruments of accountability, and tools of transparency.
“They are the practical expression of a Governor who understands that quality education begins with proper administration.
“When records are accurate, learning outcomes improve. When administration is digital and disciplined, the child wins.
This is the Soludo Education Revolution in action.
“This is a Smarter Anambra taking shape before our eyes. This is what happens when a leader refuses to manage poverty and instead chooses to dismantle it — one free textbook, one free register, one empowered teacher, one digitally ready school at a time.”
While urging every Headteacher and Officer-in-Charge to note that the training was a call to higher performance, she further reminded them that “the digital future of our schools is in your hands. Rise to it. Master it. Own it.”
To the partners and stakeholders:, the ASUBEB Chairman said: Walk with us. The journey from manual to digital is not a sprint; it is a deliberate march toward excellence, and we will not stop until every basic school in Anambra operates with the precision and accountability that our children deserve.”
In her remarks, the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Chinenye Anyakora noted that the Statutory Records Distribution: Free Administrative Logbooks and Statutory Records were supplied directly to basic education institutions to streamline school management.
Anyakora revealed that the State is concurrently rolling out digital accessories, laptops, and smart boards to all the designated model and community primary schools.
This move, she observed is in line with the policy of transparency and accountability in the education sector being championed by the State government.
Anyakora pointed out that the event signals the state government’s resolve in strengthening public confidence in the state’s education reforms and improves access to learning opportunities for children across the State.
Earlier, the spokesman of the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria , State and Head Teacher of Okpoko Community Primary School, Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Council Area, Joseph.
Ifeanyichukwu Ikoeama expressed happiness with the government in making education completely free of charge and placed with colleagues not to sabotage the programme.
Ikoeama further appreciated the ASUBEB Chairman who he described as the digital and snarl boss for sensitizing primary school teachers and head teachers on the administrative statutory records, stressing that “the ASUBEB Chairman makes things easy for them.”.
He further pledged the support of the group towards attainment of the objectives, especially in the zero-rated tolerance of corruption inherent in the programme.
Ikpeama cautioned teachers and school authorities in the state against charging and collecting illegal collection of fees in government‑owned schools across the state or face disciplinary action.
