A non-governmental organisation, The Fafunwa Educational Foundation (FEF), is set to hold its yearly lecture and post-doctoral awards in education on September 23, at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The lecture with the theme: ‘Re- inventing teacher education for culturally rooted and AI-enhanced pedagogy in Nigeria,’ will be chaired by former Minister of Science, Technology and Power, Prof Barth Nnaji, with the Commissioner for Tertiary Education in Lagos State, Tolani Sule, as Special Guest of Honour.
Chief Doris Fafunwa is the Mother of the Day.
A lecturer at the University of Lagos, Dr. Olusoji Adewumi is the Guest Speaker. Founded in 1995 by a former Minister of Education and Youth Development, late Professor Aliu Babatunde Fafunwa, the foundation was established to propagate his ideals, while also providing fresh insights on how to improve education, and use it as a tool for re-ordering and re-building individuals and society at large.
Since its establishment, the foundation has organised over 21 lectures and conferences, in addition to publishing over 15 publications, including three editions of the Fafunwa Journal of Contemporary Education (FAJOCE), published in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, University of Lagos.
