The Oganifu Umu Ohafia Association, a prominent social group consisting of notable personalities from the Ohafia clan, has announced plans to improve access to clean drinking water in the Ohafia communities. This initiative is part of the group’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for residents in the area.
During their recent mid-year meeting held in Enugu, the Association’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Chukwuemeka Ogele, highlighted the group’s successful project execution since 2021.
“In 2021, we donated learning materials to schools in the Akanu, Ebem, Amaekpu, Asaga, Okagwe, and Nkwebi communities. In 2022, we conducted free medical outreach and eye check-ups for the Ndi Ibe Ohafia community,” Ogele stated.
“We also provided learning materials to primary schools within the local government area that same year. In 2023, we conducted free eye checks in three additional communities. For 2024, we donated 100 classroom seats to various schools in Ohafia, including Isiugwu Primary School and Okagwe Community School.”
The Association’s Secretary, Sir Chukwuemeka Mba, shared details about the group’s current project. “This year, our focus is on enhancing access to clean water for communities throughout the Ohafia local government area. We have also decided that our 2025 project will involve the reactivation of dormant boreholes to improve access to clean piped water in the region,” Mba said.
