The National Examinations Council (NECO) has debunked an online publication claiming the examination body is recruiting new staff, describing it as false and misleading.
In a statement issued by its Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, the Council urged the public to disregard the recruitment notice, stressing that it is the work of fraudsters attempting to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians.
“The attention of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has been drawn to an online publication purporting that the Council is planning to recruit new staff. The Council enjoins members of the public to disregard the publication as it has no plan to recruit new staff,” the statement read in part.
The examination body emphasised that it will always follow due process and comply with existing laws whenever the Federal Government approves recruitment.
The council assured Nigerians of its commitment to transparency and accountability in all its operations.
The examination body further advised the public to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes spread through online platforms.
