President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the remodeled Tolu Schools Complex, comprising 36 Schools, adjudged as the largest in sub-saharan West Africa, in Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Council of Lagos State.
Accompanied by the host Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other top dignitaries, the President also inaugurated the Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle with 19 mini football pitches, renamed after the President.
Represented by President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, the President commended Lagos State Government for its significant progress in Education, Infrastructural renewal and empowerment.
The President also virtually unveiled the Fresh Food industrial Hub, Abijo, Ibeju Lekki.
In his remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the complete regeneration of the Schools Complex was a courageous one, built for the 21 century generation, to create a more conducive learning environment for future leaders, urged students, teachers and parents to maintain the facilities.
Earlier, Chairman, Lagos State Special Committee on the Rehabilitation of Public Schools, Hakeem Smith, noted that the challenges encountered during the project were overwhelming but the passion to deliver world class learning and teaching environment pushed them to deliver an all inclusive schools.
The Tolu Schools Complex, with a population of about 21,000 students, both in Basic, Junior and Secondary, categories, has two blocks dedicated to the physically challenged with lifts powered by solar, perimeter fencing, ICT hubs, sporting area, Vocational Centre, Central Laboratory, Health Centre, fire Station, among others.
