Tinubu, Kwara Governor gift Super Falcons cash prizes, houses

Super Falcons celebrated their 11th WAFCON win over host Morocco

President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, presented cash prizes of 100,000 United States Dollars (USD) to the members of the Super Falcons team who represented the country in the just-concluded 2025 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Super Falcons, after their Saturday win, were hosted by Tinubu, the First Lady, and other dignitaries at the Presidential Villa on Monday evening. The team presented the trophy to Tinubu and other dignitaries who were present.

Tinubu commended the team for their win and presented them with prizes to celebrate their victory at the tournament.

While addressing those present, Tinubu noted that the Super Falcons have inspired millions, especially young girls who have now seen that their dreams are valid. He also said that the Super Falcons have inspired him.

He announced that each player would be awarded $100,000 (in naira), with technical crew members receiving $50,000 each. He also conferred on them the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

They were also allocated three-bedroom apartments in the Renewed Hope Estate. The 11-man technical team were gifted 50,000 USD each. The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, gifted them ₦10 million each.

Concluding his speech, the President said he would continue to pray for them.

“I will continue to pray for you. The Nigerian spirit is unyielding. God bless you. Thank you,” Tinubu added.
