In a bid to project the agric sector to boost the country’s economy, an online agric radio and e-commerce platform has been launched. The initiative is projected to make agriculture easier for farmers.

From the stable of an Agriculture promoter, African farmer Mogaji, the online radio is aimed at inspiring the sector with the knowledge from different professions and careers needed from the private sectors in the building of the nation’s economy.

Mogaji, who lamented that the sector is bedeviled with several challenges, said the private sector would play a major role to encourage farmers and other players in the sector.

“The idea we’re trying to push is the fact that government has been supporting and funding the agric sector, but the private sector hasn’t been matching up to the resources required.

“Government alone cannot work out everything in the sector, this sector requires people of various professions and careers to help strengthen it the more. The professionals such as engineers, journalists, entertainment professionals and so on would go a long way in the growth of the sector, easy access to agric produce and branding of the produce, which could be made possible with the aid of the private sector.”

He noted that the launch of the online radio is aimed at making it easier for the people, especially the youths to express their challenges, understand and collaborate with experts in order to tackle those challenges.

“The launch of the online Agric radio is about the Nigerian Agric space and the Agric fm.com would help pick each core sector of agric and discuss, create access for the youths to express their challenges and be productive no matter how small.

“The Agric FM is a neutral sector to push the idea from print to audio with the collaboration of the journalists to help the sector.”

He added that in a month’s time, the radio, designed mainly for Nigerians would be rolling out 24 hours programme, which will involve other African countries.
