AGAIN, tragedy struck yesterday at Toyota bus-stop, on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, when a container-laden trailer, with registration number: Lagos KTU 599 XJ, fell on motion killing an ‘escort’ accompanying the truck.

According to an eyewitness, the incident, which occurred around 3:30pm, was said to have happened when the right front tyre pulled off in motion, causing the container to fall apart from the truck.

The development led to a severe traffic jam on the busy Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. It took about an hour after the accident before policemen arrived the scene to restore sanity and ease traffic.

Eyewitnesses told The Guardian that the effort of the driver to rescue the situation proved abortive as the vehicle swerved and lost control before it summersaulted, which left some bystanders at the Toyota bus-stop injured.

However, there was a mild distraction when two persons took advantage of the incident to cart away the victims’ belonging. They were caught by onlookers who beat the petty criminals silly until police came to their rescue.
