To facilitate solutions in farming, processing and marketing of agricultural products, an exhibition on dairy, poultry, food, allied materials and equipment, entitled Lasgidi Green Fest 2019, will be held in Lagos next month.

The event, which is an initiative of a Lagos agro-allied group, will present opportunities for various operators in the agricultural value chains to showcase latest technologies, innovations and solutions to a wide range of stakeholders.

Expected at the exhibition are crop and livestock farmers, scientists, dealers, distributors, innovators, manufacturers, suppliers, government officials, policy makers and other stakeholders.

According to the organiser of the festival, Chidinma Vivian Mbagwu, “this is an agro sensitization event. Agriculture as a whole is a very broad sector, from farming to processing, marketing and more. There are key opportunities in the chains.

“So, we are using this platform to celebrate as well as sensitise the public, most importantly the youth, that agriculture is not for the poor but for the smart and evolving individuals who want to make impact as well as cash.”

While stressing the alarming rate of unemployment, Mbagwu said the situation is a concern not only to the government but also every Nigerian.

“We intend to positively impact agriculture from all aspects. We have also put together workshops for intending farmers and farmers alike to equip them with necessary skills needed for a successful business,” she said.
