Al- Mu’minaat urges parents on effective child training

The Al-Mu’minaat (The Believing Women) Organization Mushin Local government has implored the various religious believes in promoting unity and harmony for peace to reign in the country.

The Amirah of the society, Sherifat Odekunle made the statement during the celebration to mark the 21st Al-Mu’minaat Training Forum (ATF) and annual Islamic camping programme for spiritual upliftment of Muslim women and their children.

Odekunle said, “it is our role as a Muslims to rebuild the future of our community and create conducive environment for the future of our children.”

Amirah added that we should learn from the experience and the commitment demonstrated by early Muslims advocacy for peace, unity and love within our community. However adding that, Islam is a religion of peace and we must demonstrate a good relationship with other religions to discourage discrimination and violence in the society at large.

She said that we need to save for the future, if we are not saving and it means we are not safe because our life is intimidating, endanger and could be recourse to a regret.

Adding that every Muslim parent must rise up to tackle any challenges might debar the progress of their children.

Odekunle also seeks the government intervention on the issue of Hijab and do justice because wearing Hijab is never an Arab culture but Allah’s command to every Muslim woman.

The lecturer at the occasion, Naibatul Amirah Communication (Lagos State Al- Munimaat) Mutiat Olusesi, who discussed on the “future of our children and the parent role.”

Olusesi described way and manner the Muslim parent need to cater for the needs of their children and encourage them to have proper knowledge towards way of Allah.

She noted that the introduction of social media has contributed negatively to the life of many children due to lack of adequate monitoring by the parent .

Olusesi said some parent’s negligence to monitor the daily activities of their children and believing they are mature enough to take care of themselves, resulted to misconduct and indiscipline of many children in the society .

She stated that, the parents should stand as a role model to their children in order to make their future a better life.

Olusesi mentioned some basic thing the children need in life which are the right to have deep knowledge about ethics of Islam which would teach them way of Allah, so that they can have fear of Allah. right to have proper education that will stand as tool to make a living in the future, right to have freedom because many parent have created fear in the mind of their children at home, to extend that the children won’t reveal their bothering to the parent.

Olusesi advised, parents to create a special attention to the children and make a good plan for their future.

“Some parent believes once they provide for their children’s need and that is all. Meanwhile, it is beyond making provision for them while we need to make them to be our friend, make them feel important and show love to them.”

Olusesi stated further that most of the criminal act in the country today like child abuse, sexual abuse and social neglect are caused by negligence attitude of many parents.
