‘Ambode has added value to Lagos State in first 100 days’

A member of the House of Representatives in the Second Republic from Lagos State and President of the Zumratul Islamiyyah Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi has commended the performance of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in office.

Olusi said the governor has really shown determination to move the state forward from where he took over from his predecessors in the first 100 days, saying, “There are obvious signs, from what the governor has done so far that Lagos would be better for it under his administration.”

Olusi, who is also one of the elders of the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) addressed journalists on the preparation of Governor Ambode to mark his first 100 days in office scheduled for Tuesday next week.

According to him, “Ambode has performed creditably within the short period of time.”

The elder statesman averred that Ambode and his team have shown that he is determined to serve Lagosians meritoriously irrespective of their ethnic, religious or political affiliations stressing, “Ambode has performed creditably well in his first 100 days in office. He is cool headed and focused.

“He has been dedicated to his programmes and has been ministering to the needs of Lagosians. From the public comments so far about his government and what I have witnessed myself, the governor is doing well.

“One would not have expected him to go the mile he has gone in this short period in office putting several factors into consideration but he has done a lot of things that are visible within this short time he took over power.”

Buttressing his position, Olusi pointed to the fact that one of the first tasks Ambode performed on assumption of office was to order the payment of the pension arrears of retirees in the state, adding “we have seen many of these retirees protested across the street of Lagos in the past but that is now history.

“The governor also recently commissioned the newly reconstructed Multipurpose Onikan Youth Centre at Onikan as a demonstration of his commitment towards the development of the younger people of the state.”
