Ascon OilASCON Oil Company has been recognized once again for its professionalism and consistent excellence in service delivery as the company emerged the Independent Downstream Marketing Company of the year. The award was courtesy of BUSINESSDAY ANNUAL OIL AND GAS AWARDS 2015 held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Group Managing Director of ASCON Oil, Mrs. Grace Olowofoyeku, was on hand to receive the award, flanked by management staff of the company. ASCON Oil was among many other companies both in the Upstream, Downstream and Oil services providers who smiled home with awards.

In his welcome address, publisher of Businessday Newspapers, Frank Aigbogun, said the awardees deserved to be recognized for thriving and delivering value to customers even in the face of harsh economic realities of the day.

According to him, these businesses excelled in their respective core operations despite the failure of the Nigerian economy to meet the hopes and aspirations of the business community since the 2007 general elections.

he event, seen by its organizers and many of its awardees as a business morale booster, especially for post-2015-election Nigeria with its optimism and anxiety, is expected to be a call to improved service delivery in years to come.

Founded over 30 years ago, ASCON Oil is set to sustain the tradition of excellence, prudent management and a committed workforce, all of which have kept the awards coming from both private and government quarters in recent times.

The company bulk storage terminal has a capacity of 35,000MT with a loading capacity of 3million liters per day. In 2005, ASCON purchased and took delivery in Turkey of the twin 7,000 MT capacity sea-going vessels presently called MT LOVELY GEORGE. Basically, the company operations cover marketing of refined petroleum products through retail outlets and bulk supplies to commercial and industrial consumers.

The company has grown in leaps and bounds, expanding its retail outlet from eleven to thirty-nine. In 2010, the company expanded its business frontiers to include a new range of lubricants for the market. As at September 2014, ASCON added aviation fuel to its range of products known as ASCON AVIATION.
