Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Atlantic Hall, Poka, Epe, Lagos, Andrew Jedras, has called for a new pedagogical approach that would improve digital skills and competencies among students.

Speaking at the 26th valedictory/graduation ceremony of the school, Jedras stated that digitisation demands a different educational experience and understanding for learners, thus the need for students to be exposed to skills that will enable them to thrive in this digital age, as well as achieve steady progress.

Challenging educators to be proficient in their vocation, he noted that to engage the future of tomorrow, a more dynamic skill set, knowledge base and level of understanding are required on their part.

He said, “The world is demanding in particular literate products of education as creative entrepreneurs, critical thinkers, and collaborative problem solvers. However, there is a dire need for innate complementary qualities to augment the formal skills and ensure a holistic employable wealth in the future.”

Stressing that the educational advantage that comes with being an Atlantic Hall student lies in its unique leadership, Jedras said, “Leadership remains our core tenet which is a process of transformation. We focus on a new pedagogical approach to ensure the skills and competencies required by our students are delivered.”

Chairman, Atlantic Hall Educational Trust Council, Ms. Lola Aboderin, advised the graduating students to utilise every available opportunity as it takes determinatuon and hard work to achieve one’s dreams.

Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission Dr. Kweku Tandoh told the students to jealously guard the values instilled in them during their stay in school as they are viable enough to see them through life.

The valedictorian, Awe Onajevwe Anne, who is also the school’s head girl, said: “Although, we faced a lot of challenges in school, our teachers helped us through.

I was very excited when I came into this school and have always thought of being the best student academically.
